f要保持经济可持续发展，中美两国都需要转变经济发展方式。中国政府将在保增长的同时，着力扩大内需特别是消费需求，着力深化改革开放，着力推进经济结构调整，着力保障和改善民生，努力实现发展速度与结构、质量、效益的统一。这次应对国际金融危机的实践表明，在外需萎缩的冲击下，中国完全有条件有能力通过扩大内需拉动经济增长。美国也正在倡导转变经济发展方式。但对中美双方来说，经济发展方式的转变都不是一件容易的事情，涉及到生活方式、储蓄消费、收入分配、教育卫生、就业社保等方方面面，需要做出长期艰苦的努力。希望双方加强这方面的合作。我们应当认识到，当今世界各国内部、国家、地区之间乃至全球的经济不平衡，究其根源是发展的不平衡。因此，推动各国、地区自身和世界经济可持续发展是硬道理。同时，在经济全球化的浪潮中，国际社会应共同努力，切实促进南北发展差距的缩小，关注发展中国家特别是最不发达国家的利益。Tomai
