要
近几年来，翻译学界开始越来越关注文化对语言转换的影响。许多著名的翻译理论和翻译家发表了他们的观点，这些理论从不同的角度看来似乎是多变的，但是最终都达成了一个常识。那就是翻译应该将最贴近的等值信息再创作为接受语言。翻译作为一种重要媒介，在文化交流活动中扮演着十分重要的角色，但因为语言和文化的不同，有许多不可避免的隔阂阻碍着不同语言和不同文化间的顺畅交流。这表明翻译有着其重要的任务。翻译应该做到的是不仅仅转换语言，而且要转换文化。由于文化翻译作为一种新兴的翻译理论越来越引起学者们的关注，因此本文从文化翻译角度撰写。由于习语像镜子一样很好地反映着文化，并且也较难于翻译，因此本文将文化翻译这个宽泛的题目缩小为“从文化翻译角度看汉语习语的英译”。
