棉纤维的性能和应用
吸湿性和良好的吸湿排汗性能使棉纤维的成为一种更舒适的纤维。棉纤维具有较高的吸水性能，是由于其纤维素的亲水的羟基基团。当水进入棉纤维内部，纤维发生溶胀，其截面变得更圆。受潮后的亲水性能和溶胀使棉花可以吸收其重量约四分之一的水。这意味着，在炎热的天气里，身体的汗会被棉织品吸收，并沿棉纱传送到织物的外表面并蒸发到空气中。因此，（棉纤维的这种性质）可帮助身体维持其温度。
