随着信息技术的蓬勃发展知识经济、网络经济、新经济等经济模式不断得以充实与展延。在现代快节奏的商品市场中，信息制约着企业的发展。企业应该以企业流程优化重组为基础，在一定的深度和广度上利用计算机技术、网络技术和数据库技术，控制和集成化管理企业生产经营活动中的所有信息，实现企业内外部信息的共享和有效利用，以提高企业的经济效益和市场竞争能力。一个发展稳健的企业不仅需要在产品上进行科技创新更需要大兴管理创新之举。并借助信息技术建立起较为完善的现代企业制度。
